Back in the Classroom

With the start of a new school term upon us Nil By Mouth will once again be stepping into classrooms across the country with it’s United Against Division programme.

Putting questions before answers.

Backed by the Scottish Government, the programme encourages pupils to consider the impact of sectarianism on Scottish society and their local community as well as participate in a range of activities helping them discuss and consider their own opinions on this and other identify based issues. As such, our workshops can provide a tremendous aid to classes studying the novel Divided City by Theresa Breslin or our very own Neeps & Tatties Scots language book.

The project brings schools together to better understand difference.

With schools across the country returning from summer holidays the charity is set to ramp up the programme which is offered free of charge to all primary and secondary schools in West Lothian, North Ayrshire, North and South Lanarkshire. Our services are also available to schools in other areas, with a small cost attached toward travel expenses. We are already looking forward to trips to all the aforementioned local authorities as well as jaunts to Aberdeen, Clackmannanshire and Argyle & Bute over the next few weeks.
