Nil by Mouth will lend its support this week to a Lowland League football club that’s  ground was subjected to a sectarian graffiti attack.

The charity will sponsor Vale of Leithen’s fixture against BSC Glasgow on Wednesday 10th April.

Earlier this year the club’s Victoria Park ground was subject to a sickening graffiti attack including sectarian slogans bring daubed on the walls and faced a clean up bill of hundreds of pounds.

Nil by Mouth has always enjoyed a good relationship with the Lowland League and wanted to highlight that clubs like the Vale are open to everyone. Following discussions with club officials within 24 hours of the incident the charity offered to lend a hand in the clean up efforts and spoke out in the media about the incident.

Fortunately, the local community also rallied to help including a local Rangers Supporters Club who chipped in to sponsor a match in a gesture of support for the club.

Clubs like Vale of Leithen are ran by volunteers who selflessly give up their time to ensure their communities have clubs open to everyone. The reaction from people to this incident speaks volumes for the attitudes of genuine football fans toward the cowardly actions of idiots with spray cans.

We are proud to sponsor this game with the fee going toward the cost of cleaning up the damage and wish the club all the best in the fixture.
