Pupils from West and St Mary’s show their artistic side

Last month we began our ‘Buddies’ programme in Paisley with pupils from West and St Mary’s Primary Schools.

Over the course of three months the schools will be working together on a range of educational workshops and fun activities focusing on how we can build bridges higher than walls and celebrate both our different cultures and shared experiences.

In addition to working with Nil by Mouth Education Officer Jamie Lithgow on a series of workshops aimed at better understanding difference the pupils have worked with the 2021 City of Culture Bid Team to learn more about Paisley’s fantastic history and exciting future.

Last week celebrated photographer Alan McCredie visited the schools to launch our photographic competition which asks pupils to take photos of what Paisley means to them. The winning entry will receive a digital camera!

We are grateful to the Paisley 2021 Bid Team and Renfrewshire Council for their support in making this programme happen. Stay tuned for more news of this exciting project in the week’s ahead.
