Bigotry Battle Brought to Westminster

Scotland’s leading anti-sectarianism charity has taken its battle to banish bigotry to Westminster. On the 9th July we teamed up with MPs to promote its work at a special event for at the House of Commons sponsored by Kilmarnock & Louden MP Cathy Jamieson.

MPs took hold of our special megaphone to ‘shout from the rooftops’ that Scotland should be free from sectarian bigotry.

Over the past year the charity has worked with over a hundred schools and employers across 16 of Scotland’s 32 local authority areas and we were delighted to update MPs on our work in their areas. We are extremely grateful to have the support of so many MPs for our campaign.  There have been nearly 8,000 people arrested for sectarian behaviour over the past decade and we must break this cycle of bigotry. Everyone has a part to play in riding Scotland of sectarianism and we have been working with a number of youth groups, schools and colleges the length and breadth of Scotland to make this a reality.
